Gordian is where the people who plan, build and maintain facilities and infrastructure find data-driven solutions, insights and expertise to make smarter decisions that save time and money. For the people who drive that mission, commitment to the community does not end at the close of business hours.
Gordian participated in Fortive’s 2019 Day of Caring event, a two-week initiative from September 30 to October 11 that gave all employees the opportunity to be involved and give back to their communities. Gordian provided employees with a variety of ways to be involved throughout Day of Caring, both company-wide and at our local offices. More than 70% of Gordian’s employees participated, giving 1,099 hours to more than 55 non-profit organizations nationwide.
Teams at Gordian gave abundantly during Day of Caring events.
Here’s a snapshot of what we did:
- Partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for three families.
- Created 450 hygiene kits for the homeless and local Salvation Army campuses.
- Put together 400 “Bags of Smiles” for Caitlin’s Smiles to distribute to hospitalized children.
- Volunteered at and donated to food banks in Albuquerque, NM; Greenville, SC; Jenkintown, PA; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Phillipsburg, NJ; and Fort Worth, TX.
- Picked up 12 bags of trash from our coastline in Guilford, CT.
- Assisted with the Homelessness Immersion Experience with Homeful.LA that takes participants from rock bottom to getting housing.
- Sponsored an ice cream social in partnership with Ascend Hospice at CareOne at Weymouth and served over 60 ice cream sundaes during their visit.
- Assisted with various projects at the Greenville Humane Society, caring for puppies and dogs.
