Gordian Gives Throughout 2023 Fortive Day of Caring

By Gordian

At Gordian, our core values are more than words — they’re actions. Our team of Gordianites embodies a deep commitment not just to our work but also to enhancing community spaces. Their dedication reaches far beyond the nine-to-five, contributing to community well-being through various initiatives.

To participate in Fortive’s 2023 Day of Caring, Gordian employees were given 16 hours of paid volunteer time off and various ways to be involved locally to make a real difference.

Approximately 400 Gordianites gave back to their communities throughout 2023 — serving more than 3,000 volunteer hours and donating more than $10,000 and 2,800+ items to positively impact 60+ organizations across the globe.

Teams at Gordian Give to Organizations and Causes They’re Passionate About

Our teams supported causes near and dear to their hearts this year, including protecting the environment, caring for animals and providing support and relief for families during the holidays. Gordianites volunteered at, sponsored and donated to organizations from Hawaii to Massachusetts to the Coast of California — to assist in wildfire relief efforts, build affordable housing and help organizations provide critical resources to those in need. Here are the top four categories our teams chose to support the most throughout 2023.

Youth Organizations

Many Gordianites gave their time, talents and treasures to support youth this past year. Our entire team donated school supplies, and team members helped pack 15 backpacks to help Greenville students prepare for a great school year. The finance and marketing teams provided and wrapped gifts for four local children during the holidays through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. The West sector operations team donated nearly 100 toys to brighten local children’s holidays and fulfilled the Amazon wish lists of eight amazing teachers at Animo Mae Jemison Charter Middle School.

Food Insecurity

Promoting wellness goes hand in hand with helping to provide nutritional resources to neighbors in need. The Southeast team spent their volunteer time at America’s Second Harvest, packing nearly 2,400 breakfast bags for children attending local summer school programs in Savannah, Georgia. At our data and product team’s annual meeting, staff members packed more than 175 bagged lunches and donated them to three local shelters in the Southern Massachusetts area.

Humane Societies

In 2023, our compassionate teammates dedicated their time and hearts to animal welfare, volunteering with various humane societies and animal organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our furry friends. At the Arizona Humane Society, teammates in the area prepared snack bags and take-home bags for pets. Gordianites volunteered at the Speranza Animal Rescue in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, by helping clean the walking path and play yards and organizing new donations in the bedding and food shed to accommodate incoming donations. Multiple teams volunteered close to home at the Greenville Humane Society by washing materials, cleaning and preparing paper for kennels and other essential tasks.

Programs to Aid Underserved Populations

Gordianites generously gave from the heart, dedicating time and donating essential items to support programs that uplift underserved communities. They volunteered with Village606 in Chicago by helping pack and donate more than 100 blessing bags, which are hygiene and wellness kits for the unhoused. The marketing team packed 100 hygiene kits and donated them to local charity organizations through Bright Lights Greenville. Our finance team served at The Dream Center Resale Store in Greenville, South Carolina, whose mission is to provide a “hand-up” to people experiencing homelessness by offering transitional housing, food, crisis intervention and education.

We’re proud to showcase the impact of our teams during our Day of Caring activities. Here are some additional photos of even more ways we got involved in our communities this year.

As a Fortive Operating Company, Gordian shares a commitment to creating a positive global impact. Our employees not only deliver exceptional service to our customers but also bring our caring culture to life in their communities. Through Day of Caring participation, we aim to make a greater difference and better understand local needs. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact our team will have in 2024!
