RSMeans from The Gordian Group Releases 2015 Cost Data Series

Greenville, S.C., Nov. 20, 2014 – RSMeans, North America’s leading supplier of construction cost information, today announced the release of its 2015 Construction Cost Data series. 

The new 2015 RSMeans cost data provides updated construction pricing that helps those in the construction industry stay abreast of the latest cost information across a wide range of trades that include heating and ventilation, electrical, plumbing and utilities, and more. The current data is available now through RSMeans Online, a comprehensive web-based service. The data is also available in CD, print and ebook format.

“As construction activity picks up, our newest cost data gives facility owners, estimators, architects, engineers, developers, and contractors critical insights for 2015,” said Chris Anderson, RSMeans General Manager. 

New for the 2015 editions are costs for approximately 1,500 new items designed to help construction professionals more accurately plan, budget and validate the costs to build, maintain and renovate facilities. New expanded data for site work, storm-water management, rock excavation, insulating sheathing, gutter accessories, ceiling moldings, plastic laminate doors, and wood windows are just a few of the expanded areas.  Additionally, included within the new data are costs for domed skylights, elevator sump pumps, pressed joint pipe fittings and valves, refrigerant line sets and centrifugal compressors.

“RSMeans researchers report significant price changes for many building materials. Some prices dropped as much as 40%, while others increased 19% over last year’s prices,” Anderson said

“We continue to see regional variation in the labor market reflected in more than 12,000 updated rates available within the 2015 editions. ” he added. 

As green energy monitoring gains importance, RSMeans’ 2015 data features updated green building products and systems—such as high efficiency condensing boilers, fire-rated duct wrap, plenum fire wrap insulation and condensing furnaces—as well as sustainable building models.
