2026 Construction Cost Trends Webinar
Many of the forces present in the construction market this past year – like inflationary concerns, a shrinking labor pool and global conflicts – were holdovers from prior years. But 2025 introduced us to a key new market disruption: AI. While AI was around before, its presence in all facets of life has grown exponentially, and we’re just starting to learn how it might impact construction costs.
One thing we can say for sure about AI and construction is that it’s leading to an uptick in megaprojects. Construction spending jumped 20% in October 2025, but the vast majority of that growth comes from a handful of massive data centers across the nation. Otherwise, market growth is moderate at best. Is this a new trend we can expect in the market in the foreseeable future? Or is it just a blip on the radar?
For this year’s edition of our annual Construction Cost Trends Webinar, our construction data experts will look at ways AI is starting to show up in construction, both within RSMeans Data Online and in the construction market at large. And, as always, we’ll dive into how construction costs for key materials – like lumber, steel, copper and more – have changed over the past 12 months.
