The State of Facilities in Texas' Colleges & Universities

Many different factors weigh on students' minds as they decide which college or university to attend. Almost 3/4 of students (71%) report that a visit to the campus is the most useful strategy in choosing their college, and 63% of first year college students report that the appearance of the campus factors into their choice. Campus curb appeal is a major consideration and can affect student enrollment. How do you keep your campus facilities and infrastructure looking their best and performing well? This session will discuss the challenges colleges and universities experience in keeping their campuses looking and working their best, and will cover how student decisions are impacted by campus appearance. Using examples from Texas Tech University, this session will describe how interior renovations, replacements, energy efficiency updates and more, can be streamlined and expedited, and result in higher student enrollment.
